How long is the exhibition open? Until what time can I purchase an admission ticket?

The current opening hours are displayed in the entrance area: 
Monday to Friday: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. 

From Monday to Friday, the last admission to the exhibition is at 16:00; on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays at 17:00.

How long is the Schallaburg season?

• In 2025, the exhibition opens on 12 April
• It closes on 2 November 2025

Is there WLAN at Schallaburg Castle?

• Connect to the network for Schallaburg guests. 
• With the Freewave network provided, you are online throughout the castle grounds.

Are there charging stations for electric cars at Schallaburg Castle?

Yes, two EVN charging stations with 11 KW each have been available in car park 2 since October 2023.

Is photography allowed?

• Image and sound recording devices are generally not permitted in the exhibition rooms. 
• Touching and photographing the exhibits is prohibited due to the legal situation (e.g. lender regulations). 
• You are welcome to take photographs in all areas that are not used as exhibition space.

Can rucksacks and luggage be taken into the exhibition?

• It is not permitted to take umbrellas, sticks and the like, or travelling bags and rucksacks into the exhibition rooms. 
• Please leave your luggage at the cloakroom! 
• Handbags or small rucksacks that are carried over one shoulder like a handbag may be taken into the exhibition rooms.

Can I take my pushchair into the exhibition?

• Pushchairs are permitted. 
• Thanks to the barrier-free design, the differences in level in the exhibition rooms are no problem for pushchairs.

Can I bring my dog into the exhibition?

• Dogs and other pets are not permitted anywhere in the Schallaburg grounds. 
• A dog drinking trough is available at the reception centre.

Food and drinks

• The consumption of food, drinks and ice cream is not permitted in the exhibition rooms.
• You are welcome to picnic and enjoy the gardens outside.

Smoking

• Smoking, the use of e-cigarettes and open fires are prohibited inside Schallaburg Castle. 
• In this context, please refer to the fire safety regulations, which apply to all employees and visitors.

Accessibility

Schallaburg Castle is a historical site. 

• Nevertheless, the exhibition area, the castle garden and the restaurant are fully accessible. 
• Disabled WC with barrier-free access available. 
• Disabled parking spaces are accessible via car park 2. 
• Schallaburg Castle offers barrier-free access to all floors with a lift (90 cm wide, 140 cm deep). 
• Two free wheelchairs can be borrowed from the reception centre on presentation of an ID card.
