- Take the climate-friendly route to Schallaburg Castle by bus and train
Public transportation
Travel by train to Melk station. From there, you can take bus line 721 directly to Schallaburg Castle and back several times a day.
Alternatively, you can make your way to Loosdorf station. From there, take regional bus line 686 to Anzendorf and walk approx. 10 minutes to Schallaburg Castle.

Note: Bus line 721 from Melk does not run during the seasonal break! The games festival & Christmas market can therefore only be reached by public transport using regional bus line 686 (to Anzendorf).

Arrival on foot or by bike
You can reach Schallaburg Castle on foot from Loosdorf railway station (approx. 1 hour) or Melk railway station (2.5 hours) on marked hiking trails.
From the Danube cycle path, it is approx. 15 minutes to Schallaburg Castle. Secure bicycle racks are available directly at the reception centre.

Take the Melk or Loosdorf exit from the motorway and follow the signs to Schallaburg Castle.

- Sufficient parking spaces are available.
- On event days, additional designated parking spaces are available in parking areas 5 and 6. Nevertheless, we recommend arriving early on event days - or travelling by public transport.
Parking spaces for buses
Parking lot 2 is designated for buses. Thanks to a dedicated entrance and exit, buses can continue their journey after their visit without having to turn around.Parking spaces for bicycles / e-bikes
You can conveniently park your bike directly at the ticket office under the canopy. Here it is also protected against theft, as this parking area is located on the premises and past the entrance. - Individual & environmentally friendly
